What a suspension means

When a device racks up enough rate-limit violations (21+), it's suspended: its messages are rejected for a cool-off period.

• Durations escalate on repeat: 1 h → 6 h → 24 h.
• A suspension lifts automatically when the timer expires (quota/restored event), or an admin can lift it early.
• A repeatedly abusive device can be banned (quota/banned) — contact support to restore it.

Recover: lower the device's publish rate to under your plan's interval before/after it's restored, or the cycle repeats. Confirm the new rate on the Quota & limits page. See sizing your publish rate.
