Update gateway firmware (OTA)

Once a gateway is online you can update its firmware remotely — no USB needed.

  1. Open the gateway's detail page and choose Update firmware.
  2. The gateway downloads and applies the new image, then reboots.
  3. Watch progress via events: firmware/update/started → firmware/update/complete (or firmware/update/failed).

If an update fails, the gateway keeps running its current firmware. See firmware update failed.

Firmware channels

Every gateway is on a release channel: Stable (the default) or Beta. Beta builds carry pre-release features for testing and are only available when beta access is enabled for your account — then each gateway card shows a channel toggle. A gateway on the Beta channel receives the latest beta build via OTA and browser re-flash; once the matching stable release ships, it updates to that automatically. Switching back to Stable never downgrades the gateway remotely — it simply stops receiving pre-releases.
