A firmware update failed

If you see firmware/update/failed:

  1. Connectivity — the gateway needs a stable connection to download the image; weak Wi-Fi (link/weak) can interrupt it.
  2. Power — keep the gateway powered throughout; don't unplug mid-update.
  3. Retry — the gateway keeps running its previous firmware, so it's safe to start the OTA update again.
  4. Signal — if updates keep failing, improve placement/antenna and retry.

A failed update never bricks the gateway — it falls back to the working firmware.
