Key concepts & glossary

• Device — a single sensor/actuator source. Connects directly (MQTT) or via a gateway.
• Gateway — field hardware that bridges local sensors (RS485/Modbus/GPIO/I²C) to Synacl.
• Tag (parameter) — one named measurement on a device (e.g. temperature). Widgets bind to tags.
• Telemetry — the stream of numeric measurements. Drives charts; retained per your plan.
• Event — a discrete fact (device/online, device/offline, faults, system notices). Shown in the Events feed.
• Alert — an event produced by one of your rules when a threshold is crossed.
• Tenant — your isolated account space. Your devices, dashboards, and data are scoped to it.
• Plan — the tier that sets your limits (devices, publish rate, storage, retention, rules).
