Build a P&ID / SCADA mimic screen

Premium feature. The Schematic widget and the analog/SCADA widget library are available on plans that include premium widgets. If you don't see it in Add Widget (it shows a 🔒 Pro badge), upgrade your plan to unlock it.

The Schematic widget turns a dashboard tile into a free-form process diagram — a SCADA-style "mimic" screen. Place industrial symbols (pumps, valves, tanks, gauges, motors), connect them with animated pipes, and bind each symbol to a live device tag so the whole diagram reflects your plant in real time.

Add a schematic

1. Edit a dashboard and choose Add Widget → Schematic (P&ID mimic). It drops in as one large tile — resize it like any widget (a schematic can span the whole dashboard).
2. Open the widget's ⋮ → Settings, then click Build schematic to open the full-screen editor.

The editor

The editor has three panes:

• Symbols (left) — the palette. Click a symbol to drop it on the canvas. Symbols are grouped as Equipment (pump, motor, compressor, valve, flow segment), Vessels (tank), Instruments (gauges, level meters, readouts, dials, fan, battery) and Status (LED, stack light, signal).
• Canvas (center) — your diagram. Drag a symbol to move it, drag its corner handles to resize, and use the zoom controls (top-right) or the mouse wheel to zoom; drag an empty area to pan.
• Inspector (right) — settings for whatever is selected. With nothing selected it shows the canvas size, grid/snap and background.

Connect symbols with pipes

Every symbol shows small port dots on its edges. Drag from one port dot to another to draw a pipe between them. Select a pipe to change its routing (elbow / straight / curved), color, width, and whether it animates flow.

Bind to live data

• Symbols — select a symbol and pick a Device and Tag in the inspector. The symbol then animates from that tag's live value (a gauge sweeps, a tank fills, a pump shows running/stopped). Leave the device as mock (demo) to preview with a simulated signal.
• Pipes — a pipe's flow binding drives its animation: in speed mode the flow moves faster as the value rises; in on/off mode it flows only when the value matches the "on" value.

Each symbol binds independently, so a single schematic can show tags from many different devices.

Save

Click Save schematic. Your layout is stored with the dashboard and saves automatically. Reopen the editor any time to change it.

Tip: symbols reuse the same widget library as the rest of the dashboard, so anything you can show as a gauge, tank, readout or status light can live on a mimic screen too. See Read-only widgets for the full symbol set.
