Upgrading & downgrading

Updated

Upgrade: pick a higher plan on Pricing and check out. New limits apply immediately.

If you're on an auto-renewing plan, checking out on a different plan cancels the old subscription at the end of its cycle and starts the new one, so you're never charged twice for the same period. See managing your subscription.

Downgrade: choose a lower plan. If your current usage fits, it just switches. If you exceed the new plan's limits, Synacl starts a grace period instead of cutting you off:

  1. You get an in-app enforcement notice listing what's over (extra devices, rules, or egress destinations).
  2. You have until the enforcement date to bring usage down yourself.
  3. On that date, any remaining excess is disabled automatically — newest items first — so your oldest, most-established setup is preserved.

You can resolve it early by deleting the excess yourself. See plans & limits.

The same grace period applies when a plan lapses because a renewal payment failed — see a payment failed.
