Registering several gateways at once
If you have a batch of gateways that are already flashed — for example units that arrived pre-flashed with their chip IDs (MACs) printed on a label — you can register them all at once instead of provisioning each over the serial console.
Bulk registration is a paid feature. It's available on plans that include bulk provisioning. If your plan doesn't, the Bulk Register button is hidden — upgrade your plan to enable it.
When to use this
Bulk registration is for gateways whose chip IDs you already know. There's no Web-Serial flashing step here: you supply the list of chip IDs and each gateway is provisioned on the server, getting its own MQTT credentials. If you still need to flash a gateway, use the single register-and-flash flow instead.
How it works
- Go to Gateways and click Bulk Register.
- Paste the chip IDs (one per line) into the box, set a name pattern (
Gateway-{n}) and a start number, then click Build rows — or add rows by hand. - Review the grid of
name,chip ID, anduplink type. Empty or duplicate names/chip IDs are highlighted. - Click Register. You get a per-row result and, for each gateway created, its one-time MQTT username and password.
Save the credentials now. The password is shown only once, on the result screen. Copy them into your provisioning notes before you leave the page.
After registering
Each new gateway appears in your gateway list. Devices are attached to a gateway exactly as before — see Adding many devices at once to register a fleet of devices under a freshly-registered gateway. Gateways are not limited by your plan's device count; only the devices you attach are.
